International Silver Lovelace pattern hollowware silverplated footed bon bon / nut dish. Made in New England, this piece has a beautiful aged patina that could be polished, if you prefer. Sports a delicate filigree pattern of punched silver. This sweet dish would make a lovely addition to your Christmas centerpiece filled with a handful of toasted chestnuts. Marked with Lovelace International Silver Company #2248 on the bottom. Found, with love, in Northern Kentucky.
History of the piece; International Silver was founded in Meriden, Connecticut in 1898. Quality silver pieces are crafted by skilled artisans in company-owned facilities. They were later merged and now are run by Lifetime Sterling. International Silver Company pieces have been exhibited in many museums over the years. In the late 1930's, the company sponsored the Silver Theater radio program by CBS.
